Trip to the Farm

Michelle, Grace, and Gavin took a trip down to Iowa to see G&G Smidt. They are pictured here with Grandma Cookie, Grace on the tractor, and of course Grace with one of the cats who probably miss her lifting them up and carrying them.

Michelle's cousin Tonya got married recently. Here are some photos from the wedding day taken at outdoors and indoors at the reception.

Kids at Play

The kids are very busy playing and moving. They are really keeping us on our toes. Grace is pictured with her pre-school back pack and Gavin is taking a seat on the porch at G&G Volker's. In the other two pictures Grace and Gavin are riding around the yard in Grace's Barbie Jeep.

Grace and Gavin

A coupe of pictures of the kids. First on the fireplace. Second, Gavin in the backyard pointing and saying, "Go west young man." Third Grace at the Eau Claire Mall play area. The last picture is Grace and Gavin at our new breakfast bar.

We are in the new house.

We have been living in the new house now for the last two weeks. A few odds and ends are still being adjusted. We have a couple of big tasks left to do, such as painting the porch, but it is getting closer. As you can see we also have some grass beginning to grow which requires a large amount of watering time. One picture shows the dining room into the living room and another shows the opposite direction from the living room towards the kitchen. The last picture shows the stairway to the basement.

House pictures

The builder insists that we will be in the house on August 15th. I brought the first two loads of (stuff) over to the house today and we are storing it in the basement.
The third picture shows the rear of the house, and also the well digging equipment on the side of the house. The first picture shows the west side down the road a little ways. The last picture shows the mound system, which is gigantic. The second picture shows the windows and the view as you walk in the front door.
The same weekend Michelle and I celebrated our 5th anniversary we also began the 5 day long process of painting the whole house. It is great to have that done. Hope to see everyone soon. I think my brother is already planning the house-warming party in September.

5 Year Anniversary

Michelle and I have now been married for five wonderful years. We decided to celebrate the occasion in Eau Claire at Country Jam on Saturday. We got rained on, but we stuck it out and enjoyed Lady Antebellum, Joe Nichols, Clay Walker, and the headliner Carrie Underwood. She can really sing. We think that for our ten year anniversary we will be going back to Hawaii.

The kids are keeping us busy along with their toys. Grace has a motorized jeep and Gavin with his pedal John Deere tractor.

The kids are doing great. They are very active and are keeping us busy. They are now wrestling around together. Gavin can get the best of Grace at times when he fights dirty and pulls her hair. They fight over toys and Grace can be very motherly when she tells Gavin what to do. You'll notice in the pics that Gavin found some dirt and Grace loves the water.
